General information

The R&G Moto4 British Cup began in 2018 as an ambitious new series aimed at bringing a new wave of talent to the Road To MotoGP™ and has since become the sole British Moto3™ class. Riders between ages 14-17 compete with their independently ran teams on identical Honda NSF250Rs around the UK with two races per event alongside the British Superbike Championship as well as a chance to showcase their talent in front of the MotoGP paddock at the British Grand Prix.

2026 will be its the ninth season with riders having the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of former stars like Moto3™’s Casey O’Gorman, Eddie O’Shea and Scott Ogden, earning a place in either the Moto4 European Cup, Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup or FIM MotoJunior™ World Championship. 2025 Cup winner Ethan Sparks and runner-up Filip Surowiak are the latest to graduate with Sparks earning a place in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and Surowiak joining the Junior Talent Team in the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship.

After its start in 2018 as a series for riders competing on identical Honda NSF250R machines in the Cup’s official livery, it evolved into the competition of today in 2020 – becoming the official British Moto3™ class following an agreement with British Championship promoter and organiser Motorsport Vision Racing (MSVR).

Riders race for independently run teams with their own sponsors and liveries but still on the identical same-spec machines. The points system follows that of the World Championship classes and there are two races at each race weekend. The series blueprint with independent teams mimics that of the highly successful Momoven Moto4 European Cup in the MotoJunior paddock and with Pirelli joining as official tyre supplier, riders across all key Moto4 Cup series now compete on the same spec of motorcycle making it a level playing field for all riders across this step on the Road To MotoGP™.

The Moto4 British Cup is aimed at riders from across the British Isles, but other nationalities can also take part.
